This article provides an overview of the ITIL process Change Management.

A change is the addition, modification or removal of anything related to the IT Service. Change Management is put in place to ensure that the change is implemented according to the organisation needs, with little or no impact to operations.
Change management ensures that standardised methods, procedures, documents are in place to minimize the risk of change, and reduce incidents, disruption and re-work. It also looks at sub-processes including recording, authorising, prioritising, planning, testing, implementing and review.
